  • Form at maturity: 25 feet tall, rounded to somewhat flat-topped
  • Leaf: Opposite, simple leaves; oval to ovate shape; leaves 3 to 6 inches long and 1.5 to 3 inches wide, color is medium green , red or reddish purple in Autumn
  • Flower: Tiny, yellowish green, compacted into button-like clusters. Each flower cluster is surrounded by four showy, white, petal-like bracts which open flat, giving the appearance of a single, large, 3-4 inches diameter, four-petaled, white flower
  • Bark: Color is dark gray, brown or black; develops small square or rectangular blocks, resembles alligator skin
  • Fruit or Seed: Bright, shiny red fruits; held in tight clusters of 3 to 4; each fruit is 0.33 inch to 0.5 inch long and elongated
  • Other:
